Autonomic computing systems
THIS EDITION of NetSpeak scans current research activities in developing `autonomic computing systems' that may enable computers protect themselves from any aberrations.
The IT world is always young and new developments occur rather regularly with astonishing speed. This author still remembers the excitement we had when a few 10 M Hz PC-ATs, with 10MB hard disk capacity were installed in our organisation. Now, within a few years, it is difficult to find a machine even with 10 GB hard disk. The tremendous developments in the hardware/software fronts coupled with the phenomenal growth and the proliferation of numerous Net services have brought the digital world to the masses.
