Mailing list manager
MAILING LIST is an e-mail based discussion forum where a mail sent to a list address gets distributed to all subscribers to the list. If a member replies to a particular message it gets transmitted to all the members. It is one of the Net's oldest services and is heavily used for sharing information, clearing doubts, Net-based teaching and product promotion. A year ago this column discussed Newsletters (March 1, 2000) which are only outbound mailing lists that allow subscribers to read the mail; members are not allowed to send mails to the list. There are thousands of mailing lists available in the Net on various subjects.
